All About Us
The Gala Committee are a group of volunteers who, each year, organise a village Gala for people in and around Overseal. All the money raised goes back into the village by way of a free music festival “OVERLOAD” in May, the village Parade and Gala on the 2nd Saturday in July and the free village Firework Display on the closest Sunday to the 5th November.
All of the events organised are held on the recreation ground behind the Overseal Village Hall, Woodville Road.
Although we are only a small committee we rely on a tremendous group of helpers who every year rain or shine come and help set up stalls, tents, run games and anything else we may need help with. Without the help these people the Overseal Gala would not be as successful as it is.
Other projects we have been or still are involved with are funding the installation of the flood lights on Saint Mathews Church, installation of the steps from the bottom recreation ground to the top ground to name but a few. The committee also maintain and look after the village war memorial.
If you would like to help or even join the committee, meetings are held in the village pub ,The Robin Hood, every other Tuesday at 8pm. We hope you can join us.
Please support YOUR village day out.
Thanks.
