THE OVERSEAL PARADE & GALA
Welcome to the 63rd Overseal Parade And Gala
Here we are again looking forward to our village Gala Day. Everyone on the Gala Committee has been working very hard to make the day a big success.
New this year we are holding our Best Decorated House competition which brightens up our village on the evening before Gala. If you can, please have a walk around the village and have a look at the great houses on display.
On the 12th of July at 1pm the Parade will make its way around the village and arrive at the recreation ground at approx 1.45pm.
The opening ceremony will take place at 2pm with the prize giving for the Decorated House and Photographic competitions. Then the ever popular fancy dress parade will be judged with cash prizes to be won.
The entertainment and events will continue throughout the day on both recreation grounds, the committee are confident that there will be something for all to enjoy.
Again this year we will be holding the great Overseal bake off competition. The entries will be displayed in the village hall, some will also be available to buy, so please come along to support our talented bakers. Teas and coffees will also be available here.
To finish the day off, at 5pm, we will announce the winners of our grand prize draw so please stay around to see if you have won one of the great prizes available.
Whilst I have this opportunity, I would like to give thanks to our dedicated Gala Committee, everybody who helps both throughout the year and on the day and all that come along to support us. Without you Overseal would not be such a lovely place to live.
